Some managed funds (including some hedge funds) feature capital guarantees, providing investors with a potentially safe investment. Here your initial investment is protected over the life of the investment, providing an innovative way to potentially grow wealth, while also protecting capital. 

Many capital guaranteed investments also feature rising guarantees and profit lock in features. A potential loss with capital guaranteed investments is “opportunity cost” as your investment is typically locked up for a number of years. If the capital guaranteed investment fails to make a profit, the investor may have to wait a number of years to realise the initial capital. Some capital guaranteed investments might also be Hedge Funds with a capital guarantee attached to them.
